The North Adams Police Department has received several calls over the past few weeks from individuals receiving phone calls from the Internal Revenue Service. This is a scam. The Internal Revenue Service will never contact you via telephone. They will send you a correspondence via the U.S. Postal Service only. A reminder to individuals receiving this call to please not give out personal information. The IRS states, if you get a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS demanding immediate payment and threatening you with arrest, you are being scammed and you need to hang up the phone. Thank you

The North Adams School Committee is the process of conducting a search for the next Superintendent of Schools. The Committee has contracted with Massachusetts Association of School Committees to provide technical assistance for the search. The Committee also believes this effort will be greatly enhanced by hearing from members of the community and value your thoughts on the qualities you think are important for the next Superintendent to possess. To make this process as easy and widely accessible as possible, we have posted a link to our Superintendent Criteria Survey, on the District’s website, www.napsk12.org. Please go to this link to access this anonymous survey and share your thoughts with us. The search timeline has been extended and the closing date for the survey is Friday, March 4th. Your participation is greatly appreciated. Thank You!
